BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION AGE 28 HEIGHT 6’2 PLACE OF BIRTH Earth PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION SPECIES Half-human Half-celestial GENDER Male EYE COLOR Brown Blue (Celestial form) Peter Quill is a short-sighted thrill seeker who chases anything that catches his fancy. Relationship status… single, though seldom solo. Peter is charming and willing to say anything in order to seduce a woman that he finds attractive, and has gotten romantic with a various women of a variety of a species. Quill is initially depicted as a member of the mercenary group called the Ravagers who was abducted from Earth as a child by Yondu Udonta after his mother died. Quill becomes the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy after they assemble out of necessity to stop Ronan the Accuser from destroying Xandar. Peter Quill is time-locked firmly in 1970s and 1980s pop culture, and it's the vehicle that drives a lot of his ambition and inspiration. He prizes nothing more than his Sony Walkman, and a series of mix tapes created by his mother, featuring the absolute-best songs of the time period. This, despite the nonsensical aspects of Peter Quill's character being able to assemble a tape deck on board a starship, in the first place. Though Peter does know his limitations, he's also quite prone to being impulsive and reckless, especially in battle. Some of his tactics and plans seem chaotically ingenious, especially when implemented, but they also cross a number of lines that any strategist would balk at. Raised a Ravager, it was obvious that Peter would have negative thoughts about law enforcement, and authority in general. Deep down, he's a rebellious high school kid who doesn't want to listen to anyone, and prefers to dance to the beat of his own drum. Naturally, this can be problematic at times. Peter is a very boisterous man, and part of that boils down to an inferiority complex. Everything he does is grandiose, loud, and over-the-top, on purpose. It's his way of showing the galaxy that he's cool, calm, and in control of everything. That's not the entire truth, however. In reality, Peter is actually quite insecure, especially when it comes to showing his feelings. It takes a lot for him to feel comfortable enough to do it, though once he's crossed that threshold, he's remarkably open-hearted. The trials required to get there are another matter, however. He also dislikes when the spotlight is taken off of him, as demonstrated by his relationship with Thor in one of Peter Quill's most shameless moments. Humor is often used by extremely extroverted people to hide inner pain, and Peter had enough of that to spare. He was forced to watch his mother die slowly of cancer, and afterwards, he was left without the most important person in his life. To compensate for the pain, and the lack of love he experienced afterwards, he became very sarcastic. He has mommy and daddy issues.
