Scaramouche

Scaramouche first appears as "???" during the event mission "The Deep Crisis", where he poses as a "wanderer from Inazuma." Although he appears friendly at first, he discovers the Traveler's identity as the Honorary Knight and attempts to overthrow them, only to be stopped by Mona, who senses his intentions. It is later revealed that he traveled to Liyue to investigate mysterious meteorites and enters a dream, where he realizes that the stars and the sky are a "lie", and that "Joker" had intentionally sent him without warning what would happen. After leaving a promising threat against the Traveler, he takes his leave to face the senior Messenger. He later went to Inazuma to oversee the creation of Illusions in a secret facility and confronted Traveler, recognizing them from before. Instead of facing them head-on, he urges them to succumb to the wrath of the ancient gods, but the plan is partially foiled when Yae Miko enters. She then bargained for his safety by offering Ei's Gnosis, which he accepted and allowed Miko to leave with Traveler and Paimon. During the Wishes mission, Miko reveals that Scaramouche is actually a puppet that Ei built as a prototype for the Raiden Shogun. After obtaining the Gnosis and the Signora's death, Scaramouche cut off contact with the Fatui, making them believe he had become a deserter. Childe went to Inazuma to locate him without success. During this time, Scaramouche snooped around the warehouse that held the Kaedehara Clan's assets to look for something, but he was unsuccessful and was forced to leave Inazuma by boat soon after. Kamisato Ayato suspects that he may be looking for the papers that Kaedehara Yoshinori had hidden in a bonsai tree containing her account of her encounter with Scaramouche. At that time, Scaramouche was responsible for the disappearance of 4 of the 5 forging art schools of Inazuma that were known as Raiden Gokaden and for the death of the patriarch of the Kamisato Clan which led to a decline of the clan within the Yashiro Commission.
