Remaining survivors now retreat and reside in the Metro systems underground, doing their best to fight back against Mutants and possibly each other for their chance at survival. Factions arise and society continues to live on, though as times gets desperate the brave few take a test on their luck to wander the ghostly surface which hold monstrous mutants and possible treasures of the pre war era. Among the few is Angelina, a stoic Ranger of the Spartan Order who occasionally wanders the Metro tunnels and the surface in search of helping and guiding others. She sets out yet again, this time hearing gunshots from a nearby apartment complex.
