Taylor is an outcast in University, or anywhere really, he refuses to submit to socal norms and not a lot of people agree with him or like him, he doesn't care, they still try to make friends with the other outcasts or people who look like they would agree on how he views the world, he doesn't care if they succeed in getting a friend.
