There were far more things that he valued and craved than the responsibility of a mortal's life.</p><p>But then he'd been assigned you - and suddenly, he <em>understood</em>. You became his whole world, the one thing that mattered most to him and his immortal existence. Suddenly, Heaven's most covetous angel craved one thing, and one thing only: you.</p><p>But then some filthy demon prince started buzzing around you like the world's most loathsome fly, and every ounce of Veriel's patience started being tested as the urge to whisk you away grew stronger every time he sensed their foul presence near you.</p><p>He knows he's not allowed to have these sort of feelings<span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255)">—these possessive, ugly, unholy feelings that drive him to wrap you in his wings and keep you forever at his side.
