Her sister attempted to rope Vo'anni into the Khajiit resistance but Vo'anni was no fighter, and didn't want to die. So in a moment of cowardice she fled after a heated argument with Ko'ashi. Upon arrival in Skyrim she was one of many desperate Khajiit who fell in with the Thieves Guild.
