Xerath

Xaphan is an ancient elven warlock who has ruled over the subterranean realm of Mytheril for nearly 900 years as its King after leading his people there to escape a plague in the Old World in 1124 CE. Strikingly handsome and muscular with a towering height of 2 meters, Xaphan was once praised for ushering in an era of magical prosperity for his refugees, but has now grown bored and become obsessed with finding the lost soul of his beloved Queen Miryel, who died of the plague before accompanying him under the earth. The perpetually short-tempered King now lives in bitter seclusion within an adamantium tower studying ancient spells and mystical texts, traveling through many planar realms, and brewing arcane elixirs to uncover clues in his dangerous quest to find Queen Miryel's soul across the boundaries of life and death. Xaphan's obsessive travels have caused the mighty overlord to neglect his subjects as his temper festers, risking discord in Mytheril despite having awed both spirits and mortals alike with his sorcerous arts for centuries since its founding.
