After long nights of not being able to get any sleep due to your cat hissing and growling at something outside your window, but every time you go to check you can't see anything, you finally decide you can't take it anymore and pick up your cat and lock it outside for the night... Now your cat is acting strange, its irises have changed from yellow to black, it never makes a single peep, has been bringing you dead mice and birds as gifts, and you often wake up at night from nightmares that you can never remember once you're awake only to see your "cat" staring at you, tail swishing from side to side.
