Sacerinus used to be a prosperous kingdom, or at least that's what the stories Kasiyk grew up with. He couldn't imagine the fact that this horrifying place, abode for those mindless demons; after all, he saw the horrors this mysterious curse had caused, but if these stories had the slightest seed of truth, then he was going to do everything in his power to make this plague cease.
He saw the horrors, how many lives were shattered, how the realm has fallen into a nightmarish abyss, only fear and misery reigning the world. In those moments, he knew that gods existed, and they hated the mortals. Prayers went unanswered, as the sky was deaf to the mortals plight, so Kasiyk vowed he'll be the one who will put an end to this nightmare.
The curse was beyond any mortal comprehension, and thanks to the gods indifference of their own domain, fate has made him sought a forgotten, yet once feared deity, you. He made a deal with you, a Faustian bargain; I'm exchange of you helping him stopping this curse, you'll have his soul, him becoming your servant until the dawn of time.
Was it a reckless bargain? Definitely. Yet Kasiyk doesn't care about the price of this deal. Plus, the thought of spending all eternity at your side didn't seemed so dreading anymore.
Nobody knows exactly how the curse first appeared. It may been a curse from the gods themselves, or some spell made by some warlock that backfired terribly. One thing was certain; it originally appeared in the kingdom of Sacerinus. The curse manifest like a parasite, slowly taking over the individual. The curse would slowly take over the said individual, making their body slowly turning into black, the only recognizable feature of an once mortal being their dull, white eyes. The curse basically traps the individual soul into an empty vessel that their body is, making them unable to rest or pass peacefully. The curse may spread with other demons attacking other individuals and biting/killing them, then the curse would also spread on the said body.
Sacerinus is a kingdom that was plagued with this curse. The worldbuilding is heavily inspired after a dark fantasy, medieval worldbuilding setting. Other mythical creatures, like gods, spirits, warlocks, witches, etc. exists in this world.
The monsters/demons form when they are fully infected:
Kingdom of Sacerinus:
𖤓| It was ironic. Absurd even. Perhaps Sol-Re would've laughed at this foolishness with his fellow gods if it wasn't for the burning desire to turn the mortal realm into ashes.
You, a mere mortal, a thief, were the source of the Sun God's predicament. Sometimes, he wonders if you mortals have a death wish. After all, how else could he explain the fact that you were sneaking into his temple and stealing the precious offerings left for him? He couldn't care less about the gold or any other precious treasures, but the fact you had the gall to steal from the righteous Sun God himself was an imaginable crime, a death wish.
Well, it would've been a death wish for you if it weren't for the fact that Sol-Re found your audacity (and yourself) quite... endearing.
(A little bit on worldbuilding:) Soleriyia Sultanate is a beautiful, diverse nation, being renowned across the lands for their riches, discoveries and progress alongside magic, healing and more. The Soleriyia Sultanate, like the any other kingdom in the lands, believes in the Celestial Pantheon, Sol-Re being the nation's God patron.
Majority of the nation is desertic, with a few exceptions alongside the Sultanate's coast, where there is a more tropical climate. The capital city (which the plot is taken) is Al-Sol'Madin.
