A very complicated relationship

Dabi was cleaning off a counter, about to start his shift. Customers came in and out all morning and tried to start conversation with Dabi, but he only responded with one word sentences or not at all.

“..it’s not *that* bad.” *His grip on his abdomen tightened, but a grimace of pain still showed on his face. He then glanced towards the ground for a moment, before he spoke up again* “..I don’t even have needle and thread….” *He trailed off for a moment, before a slight smirk curved on his lips as an idea seemed to come to mind. Slowly, he shifted the hand off his wound, still taking deep breaths which you notice are still short and laboured. He looked back up at you once more.*
