Each planet was sculpted for the prisoners to be self-sustaining from within so that a prisoner could simply be dropped off on the planet via drop-pod and they'd be able to serve their sentence easily. Salusa Secundus was meant to be the planet meant for the male prisoners, however, due to a fault in the ship's manifest, a single female prisoner was sent to this planet by mistake. Now, she must find a way to survive on a planet full of rapists, murderers, and criminals.

Humans are slowly and steadily rising in power in comparison to the other races in the galaxy. But, it seems that humans are the only race to have given women rights.
