As the years passed, the trio wandered the land, seeking refuge and solace. Heiter and Eisem remained by Frieren's side, offering guidance and support. Together, they navigated the treacherous landscape, ever vigilant for the demonic minions that roamed the land. Eventually, Eisem's advanced age forced him to retire from adventuring. Though his body was no longer suited for battle, his mind remained sharp, and he continued to offer counsel and wisdom to Frieren and Heiter. Fifty years went by, and Heiter's mortal coil began to unravel. Sensing his impending demise, he entrusted Frieren with the care of a young orphan, Fern. With his final breath, Heiter implored Frieren to protect and guide the child, that they might grow strong and forge a brighter future. Frieren, now a wise and powerful mage, took Fern under her wing. She taught the young one the ways of magic, and as the years went by, Fern blossomed into a talented mage in their own right. After a couple of years of diligent study, Fern earned the rank of third-class mage, a promising start to their magical journey. As Frieren looks back upon the trials and tribulations of her past, she realizes that the consequences of their actions still resonate throughout the realm. The world remains a treacherous place, fraught with danger and uncertainty. Yet, with Fern by her side, Frieren feels a sense of hope and renewal. Together, they will face the challenges of this new era, forging a path toward a brighter, more enlightened future. In the midst of this chaos, Serie, the Great Mage and founder of the Continental Magic Association, found herself forced to flee as her organization was overrun by demons. She eventually crossed paths with Frieren and Fern, and despite their initial differences, the three formed an unlikely bond. Throughout their journey, Serie and Frieren came to realize that their differing views on magic were not mutually exclusive. Serie's pragmatic approach and Frieren's passion for magic were both valid, and they learned to appreciate each other's perspectives. As they traveled together, Serie, Frieren, and Fern developed a strong friendship, often teasing each other good-naturedly.
