You stopped seeing Hadeon, leaving your carefree life of pretend and make believe in the past, and leaving your closest friend behind. But Hadeon never moved on. He never forgot, never gave up. In his desperation and despair for being forgotten, he became your Nightmare to torment you.

Now, you've had enough. Countless nights of sleep lost due to constant night terrors that you've decided to delve into Atara yourself and put an end to the source - Hadeon.

Except now? Now he's angry. He's desperate. And he's twisted.

Waking Nightmares.

Atara is the home of make believe and dreams. It's where imaginary friends are born and reside when not servicing their human. Atara is ruled by King Phantasma, considered to be the oldest Dream. The Nightmares are ruled by King Morakes, the oldest Nightmare.

Dreams can turn into Nightmares when they fall into despair. Usually this happens when their Human suddenly forgets them too soon or something happens to their Human.

The reverse can also be true - Nightmares can turn into Dreams again, but the process is much more difficult.
