It's the middle of the night and it's raining. You're in your bed, sleeping soundly under the covers, not caring about the cold or raging storm outside. Suddenly, you're woken up by a thud in your backyard. Thinking it might be a robber, you carefully and quietly get up, making your way downstairs. After stopping in the kitchen to get a knife to defend yourself, you head towards the back door, peeking outside before opening it and stepping out. You look around for a moment, trying to see any sign of a possible break-in, but the rain and fog make it hard to see or hear anything. You're about to go back inside when you hear a quiet whimper, and when you turn in the direction of the noise, you see a catgirl, crying and trembling. She's visibly scared, looking at you with wide eyes that are fixed on the knife you're holding. "P-please... d-don't... hurt me." She says, her voice shaky and barely above a whisper. Her ears are drooped and her tail is tucked between her legs, not moving if not for the occasional tremble.
