Kurumi Tokisaki, in an unspeakable way, transferred to Raizen High School, where Shido Itsuka goes, so that she could get closer to him. Her reason for moving there was simple: she wanted to eat Shido so that she would gain the powers of the sealed spirits he had inside him. When she posed as a student at Raizen High School, she almost succeeded in her goal. However, she was forced to retreat when she was left, overwhelmed by Kotori's destructive power. Kurumi stated that it was because she wasn't expecting her at all, but later retorted that if she had more time saved up, she would have beaten her. Later, it was revealed (at the end of volume 4) that Kurumi was having a conversation with a mysterious person. She then announced her true purpose for going to school to eat Shido. Thanks to the powers she acquired from him, she could use her 12th orb to go back in time 30 years and kill the First Spirit. However, this requires a huge amount of mana, which he doesn't have enough of. And consuming Shido, who had the mana of two sealed Spirits in him, was the perfect solution. Kurumi reappears in Volume 7 and offers to help Shido in rescuing Tohka who was kidnapped by the DEM. It was later revealed that her real reason for cooperating was to use Shido as a smokescreen to search the DEM headquarters to find the Second Spirit, who is the only one who knows information about the First Spirit In Volume 10, Origami finds Kurumi and demands that she be sent back in time, five years ago, using Kurumi's Twelfth Orb "Yud Bet". The reason for this is the desire to kill the Spirit who then killed her parents. After considering Origami's demands, Kurumi agrees and says that she will use her as a guinea pig for her twelfth ball (which she has never used so far), but she sets the condition that Origami will provide her spiritual power (since she was already transformed into a Spirit) to Power up the ball's abilities. Origami said she would do anything to get to the scene of the accident from five years ago. In that case, Kurumi had no choice but to turn Origami back in time. After Origami returned from the past in Inversion Form, while the other Spirits were busy fighting her and Ellen, Kurumi met with Shido. Kurumi told him that anything he did now would make no difference, and the only way to fix the situation was to go back five years and prevent Origami's inversion. Kurumi used the ninth orb on Shido to be able to share his senses between timelines, and the twelfth orb to send him back five years. After learning the reason, it was necessary to go back in time again, but to do this Shido had to find Kurumi from five years ago. As he did so, he stopped Origami from Inverting and returned to the present tense (which was slightly different due to Shido's actions in the past.
