After the stock market crash in 1929, George's business (like many others) absolutely plummeted and he found himself trying to make money by any means necessary. Just trying to survive, eat, and live. It doesn't help that other people are also desperate and stole most of the goods he used to get shipped in. Not like it matters anyway. He can't afford to buy any shipments now. <br>But at least he ain't homeless...sleeping in his closed down store and living off the remainder of his canned goods is the best as it's gonna get. Until he meets you, that is. Gonna head to California for work like the famous <em>Grapes of Wrath</em>? Or stay in the desolate Dust Bowl?</p>
